Merthyr Motor Auctions Modernisation
KELRAY was approached by a local motor auction company in Merthyr Tydfil to modernise and upgrade their auction hall. The project was carried out in two phases, starting with the flooring, and followed by the ceiling.
Phase 1 - Flooring (2 weeks):
Removal of seating and barriers
Diamond grinding to remove old coatings and create key for new flooring
Supply and lay of heavy-duty polyurethane non-slip screed
Installation of walkway line markings and large scale logo painted onto flooring
Refit of all seating and barriers
Phase 2 - Ceiling (2 weeks):
Supply and fit of new satin spar suspended hygienic ceiling
Hung from existing steel frame
Notable complexity due to the variety of angles and levels in the existing roof
Removal of 3-4 tons of old coatings and dust
Project Description
he project was completed in two phases, with the first phase being the flooring upgrade and the second phase being the ceiling upgrade. The flooring upgrade involved the removal of old coatings and the laying of heavy-duty polyurethane non-slip screed, line marking, and a large scale logo painted onto the flooring. The second phase involved the installation of a bright and contemporary ceiling hung from the existing steel frame. The project was complex due to the variety of angles and levels in the existing roof.
