Research Facility Refurbishment
For this Research Facility Refurbishment, the client, a research facility in Merthyr Tydfil, S Wales, required an upgrade of their dated office spaces to a modern, welcoming, and open-plan environment to enhance the working experience of their employees. The project was completed in two phases, with phase 1 focusing on the large room and kitchen area, and phase 2 comprising the reception area, meeting rooms, and board room.

The primary objective of the project was to create an open-plan space that maximises the available area while keeping costs within the budget. The project's major challenge was the awkward access and delivery of materials to the second floor, where the works were taking place, with the only access being an external staircase fire escape.

The project's first phase involved creating an open-plan space in most areas of the office, while the second phase focused on the creation of glass partition meeting pods to maximise the use of space. The project's works included recycling glass panels to create new partitions, installing Dune Evo Tegular suspended ceilings, laying carpet tiles, installing partitions, and a full decoration to create a modern and attractive workspace.
